The school has been a member of the Westerplatte Schools Club for many years and it co - operates with the Polish Ecological Club.School life is not monotonous. Most of the time is spent studying but there is also room for different competitions during which we can show off our knowledge and skills. Our successes testify that we know and can do quite a lot. We have in our midst prize - winners of subject contests and sports competitions such as basketball and volleyball. The hockey players and girls who represent Poland as juniors in Teakwando score successes also. One of the most interesting forms of entertainment at school is the school Day of Sports.
Every year table tennis competitions during which teachers compete with students are held. Last year the school's girl basketball representatives decided to get their name into the Guinness Book of Records by playing the longest game ever. It took place in the center of the city and was watched by many visitors who enthusiastically cheered the girls on for 24 hours.
Every year a committee consisting of teachers and student representatives choose the nicest and most active class.
The freshmen students have an opportunity to learn more about the school patron during the major H. Sucharski contest.
Those who are interested in the humanities like to take part in "Olympiads", literary and recitory competitions.
We have quite a few achievements in this area.
In 1998 one of our students won 2nd place in the province in a recitory competition and in the year 2000 the first place in a poetry competition "What plays in your soul". During the Cultural - Artistic Survey of High School Students of the Nowy Sącz District Michał Herman fascinated everybody with his singing.
About these and other successes of our friends and about things that take place at our school we can find out by reading the interesting school newspaper "Short cash". The editors come from the journalist classes. The school offers its students many attractions. It has a well - equipped weightlifting room, two computer labs with access to the Internet, a well - supplied library, a videotape collection and a CD collection.
Many students are interested in the aerobics classes and the classes that take place at the swimming pool.
The school gives its students an opportunity to get to know countries of the United Europe. Every year interesting trips abroad take place for example to Italy, Germany, France or Denmark.
There are also national trips organized to Warsaw, Sandomierz, Tarnowskie Góry etc. The school youth participates in an active way in modern cultural life.
We go to art and photo exhibitions shown in the city.
We participate in the concerts that take place during the Jan Kiepura Festival.
We go to performances such as "Ferdydurke", "Shoe makers" and to the movies "Cube", "With Fire and Sword", "Pan Tadeusz".
The decision to what performance we will go to is made by students and teachers together.
Apart from teaching its students, the school brings them up.
This is where we learn to be tolerant, reliable, tactful and wellmannered.
We have found out how important openmindedness and friendliness is by taking part in charity actions for example "A mountain of pennies for the needy" and by collecting stuffed animals for the Krynica Ambulance Service.
Some of our students are volunteers and help in the rehabilitation of a handicapped child. In their free time students develop their interests by partaking in the Krynica Photographic Circle and ballet workshop.
Our school is not a big community so every students is treated individually.
We form one big family in which we all feel needed because "a school without students is like a house witout windows".
